In 2005, Professor Ying Chen, then vice-president of Hangzhou Dianzi University (HDU), established the marine discipline in HDU. Then in 2006, the Institute of Ocean Engineering was established. And in 2012, the Department of Marine Engineering was established.
At present, the Institute has 19 full-time teachers, all of whom are Ph.D., including 8 professors, 1 high-end foreign expert from the Ministry of Science and Technology, 1 Zhejiang Provincial “1000 plan”, 4 second-level and 2 third-level in Zhejiang Provincial “151 Talent Program”. It has the provincial key scientific and technological innovation team Marine Machinery and Port Equipment Technology and the provincial education department innovation team Marine Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Technology.
It has the Zhejiang Provincial Top Key Discipline Marine Electro-mechanical Equipment Technology , and the Key Discipline of Marine Engineering. The Zhejiang Key Laboratory of Ship Port Machinery and Equipment Technology has been set up. And two Zhejiang Provincial Strategic Alliances of Technological Innovation, namely Ship Power Industry Technology and Ship and Ocean Engineering, have been built with enterprises. There are three Production-Uniiversity-Research bases, namely, Zhoushan Shipbuilding Machinery Industry Base, Shaoxing Port Machinery Industry Base and Hangzhou Optical and Mechanical Industry Base.
In recent years, through continuous efforts to carry out scientific research and social services, the Institute has obtained a series of fruitful results: 1 Second Prize for National Technology Invention Awards , 1 First Prize for Technological Invention Award of the Ministry of Education, 1 First Prize for Science and Technology Award of China's Machinery Industry, 2 First Prize,2 Second Prize and 1 Third Prize for Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress Award ;
It undertakes 28 state-level projects such as the 863 National Plan, the Ocean Project of the State Council and the National Natural Science Foundation, and more than 10 provincial and ministerial projects. It authorizes more than 50 invention patents and publishes more than 30 SCI-included papers.
Independent development of deep-sea exploration sampling equipment has become the main equipment for ocean resource exploration in China; the developed deep-sea multi-parameter electrochemical sensors and underwater robots have been successfully applied to Jiaolong and various ocean scientific exploration activities in China, and have made important contributions to deep-sea resource exploration in China.
1. Deep-sea resources exploration and mining equipment technology
This direction mainly carries out instruments and equipment technology for deep-sea resource exploration and exploitation. It has a scientific research team represented by Professors Donghui Zhou ,Jingbiao Liu and Huawei Qin. Specific research directions as follows: Contact and non-contact marine physical and chemical multi-parameter detection technology. Aiming at marine environmental monitoring and deep-sea hydrothermal system exploration, contact physical/electrochemical sensors are used to further improve marine physical and chemical multi-parameter detection system, as well as deep-sea hydrothermal/cold spring remote exploration. The optical fiber, laser and acoustic sensors are used to realize the long-distance detection of submarine bubbles in a non-contact way. Low power consumption and anti-interference technology, real-time communication interface technology, image acquisition and transmission technology, network intelligent control technology, high-power motor drive control technology, underwater equipment structure design technology.
2. Marine hydrodynamics
Marine hydrodynamics mainly solves the hydrodynamic problems and optimization problems related to advanced ship power and ship design, marine environment stereo monitoring and deep-sea exploration and underwater equipment. It has a scientific research team represented by Professors Zefei Zhu , Huachen Pan , Ruijin Wang , M.M. Rahman and Jie Mao.
Specific research contents include: advanced ship power optimization technology, advanced ship design technology, non-contact measurement technology of underwater temperature and flow field; fluid-solid coupling research of marine electromechanical system; two-phase flow research in marine power equipment and pipeline system; artificial upwelling technology; coastal electricity, etc. Plant temperature drainage; drift and diffusion of marine pollutants; simulation of marine ecological balance and cycle and artificial intervention technology.
Among them, micro- nano-fluidic dynamics mainly solves the problems of fast and high-throughput analysis of marine organisms and marine minerals; solves the problems of flow and heat transfer in various channels under the action of electric and magnetic fields; solves the turbulent transition of particle flow and fiber flow; solves the problems of fluid-solid coupling heat transfer, jet cooling, phase change heat transfer and energy storage; Solve the fluid problems in equipment process; solve the heat transfer problems in electronic equipment and energy power equipment; design and develop computational fluid dynamics program to solve the fluid dynamics problems in engineering and middle.
